Undurraga, Terroir Hunter Chardonnay, Valle de Limarí 2022

Founded in 1855, Undurraga is one of Chile's most respected wineries and current winemaker, Rafael Urrejola, is much fêted. The Limarí Valley combines a maritime and semi-arid climate, presenting misty mornings, windy afternoons and cool nights, in addition to intense sunlight - ideal conditions for quality Chardonnay. The grapes are sourced from a single vineyard and fermented in Burgundian oak (with a little new) with lees aging for 10 months and regular bâtonnage. A classically Burgundian style of Chardonnay - smooth, creamy and showing a perfect balance of citrus, toasted hazelnut and coastal freshness.
